My life is different now that I don't procrastinate.
Today marks the one-year anniversary of my podcast, The Habits and Home Show, and also signifies the day I decided to stop being a procrastinator.
On the very first episode of the podcast on September 1, 2021, I shared my personal struggle with procrastination and how I had felt led to start the podcast months earlier but I kept putting it off.
I shared that perfectionism and a fear of failure had been holding me back from launching the podcast but that I was done with my overthinking and worrying about doing it "wrong" so I forced myself to JUST. LAUNCH. THE. PODCAST.
That declaration and overcoming the need for perfection was a turning point for me. I no longer identified as a procrastinator and my actions this past year have solidified that belief about myself.
Anytime there was an opportunity to put a task off, my inner belief about myself wouldn't let me. It kind of felt off. Like I was going against the very nature of my being.
Anytime I thought about putting a task off until later, I found anxiety starting to creep in and I refused to let myself get into that state again because I just wasn't a place that I was able to thrive and be my best self.
That "off feeling" became the trigger for me to take action and because of me developing that constant action taking habit this past year, I have reaped many rewards and today I'm sharing 5 simple but powerful five things I've gained from giving up the habit of procrastination this past year.

When I work with a client decluttering and organizing her space, my support and coaching doesn't stop there. I'm always available for follow-up and accountability.
In this episode, I'm checking-in with Caroline Brown a month after my in-person session with her as we had decluttered and organized her seven year old's bedroom.
Caroline gives a behind the scenes look into what it's really like working with a professional organizer and gets vulnerable about the habits she was lacking to pass on to her children. She says that she has gained peace of mind from the entire experience and that it was well worth the investment to get help.
Tune in as I check in with her, discover how her daughter reacted to the overhaul and hear how their habits have changed since our time together. It's a good one!

066 \\ Is it Okay to Stop My Habits and Routines While on Vacation?
Thursday Jul 14, 2022
Thursday Jul 14, 2022
A couple months ago I shared a podcast episode on How to Overcome Travel Exhaustion and Stress and bounce back quicker to be a productive mom after taking a trip.
What I love about what I shared is that it provided a great pre-travel checklist and it's what I refer back to anytime I'm about to travel. Things such as making sure the kitchen is stocked with food for when we return and hiring a housecleaner to come clean while we're away. Click HERE to listen to or read all the tips on preparing for a trip.
Today, I wanted to touch on the same topic of traveling and how to avoid travel burnout and exhaustion by answering the question, "Is it okay to stop my habits and routines while on vacation?"
We're actually vacationing this week in Destin, Florida on our annual Lizotte family vacation trip with Jered's family and I thought I could give you first hand feedback on my experience with sticking with my habits and routines instead of completely throwing them out the window and taking a break for the week. Let's dive in!

Hey mama friend! Have you been thinking about homeschooling your kids but you're too scared to take the plunge? It's been on your heart for a couple of months or maybe even a couple of years but for one reason or another you are always able to find an excuse whether it's due to family finances, lack of confidence in your ability or not wanting to give up the career you love. It could even be a combination of all three of those and then some. You may even some have friends that homeschool or follow some homeschooling mamas on social media and you dream of what it could be like for you and your kids but all the fears and what ifs keep holding you back from even trying it out.You definitely don't want to fail at it and mess up your kids but let me ask you something. What if it ends up being yes one of the hardest things you've ever done in your, but also the most beautiful and memorable time of your motherhood? My friend Beth Johns was right where you are for years going back and forth every school year trying to decide if this was the year she was going to homeschool her kids. I remember several years of our private conversations and her asking me every little details and getting advice on how they could work it out financially. After years of wrestling with this conviction, Beth has finally said yes to homeschooling her kids and she's on the podcast today sharing her story with us. If you have been thinking about homeschooling or are new homeschooling mom, you will be blessed by this conversation. Let's dive in.

Do you find yourself caught up in the rat race of taking care of everyone else and putting yourself last by neglecting your own self-care?
You may even feel burn out and worn down from giving 100% of yourself to others, your family, your work and even the upkeep of your home, that you feel you have nothing left to give yourself.
You strive to eat healthy but you find yourself running through the drive thru to satisfy your craving for salty French fries. You may be the mom who needs four cups of coffee to get through the day but I bet you’re not drinking it black. Nope it’s loaded with all the sweet stuff. Or you may be like me when I had toddlers calling my mother-in-law in the middle of the day from something stronger - a coka cola. HAHA!
I know what it’s like to not prioritize my health but so desperately want to look better in a bathing suit. And my guest on the show today does too.
She is a registered dietitian, nutritionist and weight loss coach who knows first hand what it’s like to juggle all the mom responsibilities and desire to feel good in her skin. She’s also a fellow podcaster at The Baby Weight Nutritionist podcast where she coaches women to lose weight and feel comfortable in their own body even while having little to no time.
Today we’re getting her advice on how to prioritize our health as busy moms to lose weight and feel better both mentally and physically.
